The EMD GP50 diesel locomotive was built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between 1980 and 1985. It is powered by a 16-cylinder EMD 645F3B diesel engine, which produces 3,600 horsepower. The GP50 is currently hauling freight from coast to coast.

This is my second most favored product train, following the Swiss Alpine Express (see other video clip). ***Watch in High Quality for Best Results*** (Part Two) June 26, 27, and 28 was Railfest weekend in Altoona Pennsylvania. This video starts off with Matt (CSX2788) seeing NS #8431 (C40-8W), and NS #9316 (C40-9W) pulling a coal train Eastbound on track 1 with helpers NS #6310 (SD40-E), and NS #6305 (SD40-E) at the Cresson Overlook Platform. After Matt (CSX2788) saw this coal train, he changed locations and moved to the Gallitzin Tunnels, while I was at Horseshoe Curve. Before I would see the coal train he saw in Cresson, I would see the Westbound afternoon Amtrak train, the Pennsylvanian, being pulled by Amtrak #139 (P42DC). Soon after the Amtrak, I would see that coal train. After the coal train, I left to go to dinner, then to the Railroaders Museum for the Railfest kickoff party, while Matt (CSX2788) stayed in Gallitzin a little while longer. After a few more trains there, he left to meet me at the Railroaders Museum. Me and him stayed of one of the walk-way bridges to watch train until the fireworks started. While we were there, we saw NS #2617 (SD70M), NS #9180 (c40-9W), NS #4148 (GP38AC), and NS #6674 (SD60), on an Eastbound mixed freight, and then NS #9450 (C40-9W), and NS #2697? (SD70M-2) on an Eastbound intermodel. Shortly after that train, the fireworks started, and it was officially Railfest 2009!

Well Train Buds, Here it is, my first HO video. I apologize for how raw it is but I am in the middle of moving and have to work with what I have right now which is a 6 foot string of Atlas code 83 flex track. Please be easy on me..LOL!!! I just wanted you guys to see and hear some of my new stuff. We move exactly one month from today so I will do the graffiti video for my buds that asked for it and then it will be a minor shut down for Rooch for a while… Once I get settled in and can start benchwork I will be sure to post progress videos. Throughout this series, you will see pictures that friend Matt (CSX2788) took, in with my videos and pictures that I take. I’ve added pictures of his in other videos that I’ve made previously, to help make the video more enjoyable. When ever me and him go railfanning together, we don’t even have to talk about what we’re going to do. We just know that he takes the pictures, and I take the videos, and pictures when I have time to take them before the train gets closer. This video’s contents were all taken on Friday, June 26, 2009. Matt (CSX2788) got to the tracks earlier then I did, so this is most of his pictures. He started off the day at the Cassandra Overlook Bridge. Once I reached the Altoona, I stopped in Cresson for about 5 minutes to see what was going on when NS #2724 (SD70M-2), and NS #9718 (C40-9W) came along, the train Matt (CSX2788) just saw in Cassandra. After I saw the power go by, we left to go to our hotel in downtown Altoona, while Matt (CSX2788) stayed in Cresson a little while longer. After he saw a few more trains, he changed locations and moved to Cresson, while I was on my way to the Horseshoe Curve. His first train in Cresson, was my first train at the Horseshoe Curve. So if there is a Westbound at Horseshoe Curve, I will see it before Matt (CSX2788) will, and if there is a Eastbound, Matt (CSX2788) will see it before I will.
