Atlas O Erie EMD F3

This video features the recently released Atlas O Erie EMD F3′s. One A unit is powered while the other is unpowered. These locomotives are part of Atlas O’s Master Line. As to be expected the detail on these locomotives is second to none. Atlas O did a very, very nice job making these locomotives. The paint and lettering are flawless. These locomotives couple very close to each other and that also adds greatly to their appearance. The powered A unit features Lionel Railsounds 4.0, TMCC, Train America Studios Engineer on Board speed control. electro couplers, and a fan driven smoke unit which I did not use in this video. It also has a die cast frame and fuel tank which helps make these locomotives sound so nice. The unpowered locomotive features a working headlight and marker lights. There is a switch on the bottom of this locomotive for both the head and marker lights to turn each on and off. In my opinion, Atlas O makes the nicest EMD F Units available in O scale. The train in this video is made up of rolling stock made by Atlas O, Lionel, MTH Electric Trains, and Weaver Models. And there is an MTH Premier caboose bringing up the end of the train. It’s being operated with Lionel Legacy. The track is K-Line tubular with O-96 curves. You will also see a Lionel New York Central ALCo FA-2 ABA set pulling a freight as well as an Industrial Rail trolley pass by in this video. The F3′s were made by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors between January 1945 and February

Lionel Postwar #1534w O-Gauge Train Set in True HD 1080p

This is the train set that, for me, started it all. This year it turns 55 and it still runs fine. It was a gift from a long departed uncle when I was just a baby but I’ve had it ever since. Lionel set #1534w consisted of the #2328 silver Burlington GP-7 and three aluminum-painted short streamline passenger cars: 2432 Clifton vista dome, 2434 Newark pullman, and 2436 Summit observation (all named for towns here in New Jersey). Over the years I’ve added two more cars to the set: another 2432 Clifton that has the car numbers in a different location (Lionel in the 50′s was great for variations like this) and the 2435 Elizabeth pullman. These cars first came out in 1954 and became part of this set in 1955. They were still part of sets in 1956. I also still have the rest of the set, the transformer, the track, the boxes, the whole thing. Having grown up with this, is it any wonder that it became a life-long hobby? Though the train doesn’t have sound or smoke or any of the other modern features that liven up most of my videos, it’s a sentimental favorite, especially around this time of year, and I thought that I’d share it with you. Lionel Trains around the Christmas Tree 2010

This video shows most of the holiday village and trains that I set up for the holidays. This village started in 1983 with a Plasticville gas station and school and has grown into a small city. The buildings are made by Ameritown, City Seen, K-Line Electric Trains, Lionel, Model Power, MTH Electric Trains, Plasticville, and Walters. The car and trucks on the streets are 1/64th scale, which is a smaller scale then what the trains are. I also collect 1/64th scale trucks, so this is the one time of the year I can enjoy two of my hobbies at the same time. The cars are made by Ertl, Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning, and Matchbox and the trucks are made by Die Cast Promotions. Everything in this video takes about 10 days to 2 weeks to set up. The most time consuming part of the set up is running power to light the buildings. I run the wires for the building lights under the roads to help hide the wires. All the locomotives in this video is made by Lionel. There is a Pennsylvania Railroad J1a 2-10-4, a Pennsylvania Railroad Baldwin RF16 Sharknose diesel set, a Pennsylvania Railroad S2 steam turbine, and a Pennsylvania EMD F3 diesel set. The rolling stock is made by Atlas O, K-Line, Lionel, MTH, and Weaver Models. All the track was made by K-line with O-96 curves on the outside track, followed by O-81, O-72, and a combination of O-72 and O-56 on the inside track. The trolley was made by Industrial Rail and has been serving the city since 2001.
